2021 has arrived with the ‘new year, new me’ mantra everywhere. Millions of human tubes with teeth are inspired with resolutions andย  following advice like ‘find your passion.’

That’s just shitty advice.

In short, telling people to find their passion could suggest that it is within you just waiting to be revealed. It is not. Telling people to follow their passion suggests that the passion will do the lionโ€™s share of the work for you. It will not.

We take a look at the the effects of fixed and growth mindsets on learning, curiosity, and motivation.
